Instructions
The Fan Dangler comes with two types of mounts to display your next turkey fan. Both mount easily to the turkey’s tail feathers
for simple yet perfect fan every time. Please note that it is imperative to attach tail feathers within 12 hours after taking turkey, as
fan becomes stiff and will hinder the way the fan naturally spreads out. If unable to attach within recommended time period, simply
place two light objects about 1” long (eg. Cut card board or Styrofoam) and place on each end between fan and mount to keep fan
in desired spread position. (A) Once positioned, it’s recommend to add mixture of salt and borax to meaty portion at center of fan as this will help cure the fan and reduce the amount of rotting and odors that occurs while fan dries.
The Drying Mount has the turkey head on it and is designed only for drying the fan. Simply attach the first and second tail feathers
on both sides of the fan when spread out 180 degrees, to the four clips (two on each side) on the Drying Mount. The fan will hang
upside down and the weight of the fan will cause the fan to stay spread out. If fan doesn’t want to stay spread to desired position (See A above). The design of the head forms a hook and can be hung easily to anything for simple out of way drying period. Once dried you have several options on use...
- Keep attached same way and hang on wall for display.
- Keep attached same way and use Drying Mount as carrying handle to transport while using fan in conjunction with favorite
strutting gobbler decoy on future hunts.
- Detach Drying Mount from fan and place on back side of spread fan. This way you can hang fan upright with mount hidden behind fan and used as mounting device to wall.
The Trophy Mount has the Flextone Logo on it. It attaches to tail feathers and is hung upside down just like the Drying Mount. Use
the lower two sets of clips to attach to feathers. Once hung to desired position, attach your set of spurs (cut off from turkey’s leg) by
placing the two clips through the hollow bone behind the spur. Then attach beard to center clip for display. Some beards are thicker
than others, as it might require sliding strands of beard through side opening of clip to get the entire beard inside clip. Trying to force
the entire beard by bending the clip might cause the clip to break. Hang on wall by placing small nail into desire position and hook
nail head through hole in middle of Flextone logo.
